Loire Valley, France

Through my partners at Sopexa USA, I spent a week driving through France, capturing portraits of winemakers for Loire Valley Wines. My time spent in the beautiful, bucolic setting of the Loire Valley, meeting winemakers and hearing their stories is an experience I won’t soon forget. Crisp mornings watching the blanket of fog slowly lift as I wandered dew-soaked vineyards. Winemakers who, through often broken English, warmly welcomed me into their wineries, sometimes with their homes just a short walk away. Evenings spent wandering the cobblestone streets of a new, unfamiliar town, absorbing what local flavor I could. To me, this was everything a photographic journey should be. Starting in Clisson, a small storybook-like town in Western France, I made my way east, stopping in places like Saumur, Chinon, Montrichard and Sancerre. I’m happy to share some of my favorite portraits and observational captures from that trip.
