Three Months in Japan

I still pinch myself, wondering how this was possible. Through my wife’s employer, we were able to relocate to Kyoto, Japan for three months in the spring of 2023. It was my first time visiting and I can barely think of a personal experience more profound. The way of life, the culture, the society—it was all so new, so fresh and so unlike anything I was accustomed to. While the bulk of our three months there was spent in Kyoto due to work obligations, we were able to travel around and visit places like Tokyo, Naoshima Island, Kanazawa and others. Included here are a few of my favorite images captured during that time.
